database – Anylogic – Assembler with own Assembly Plan with Excel DB

Currently I am Testing my Assembly Model and trying to dynamize my conditions for my Assembler. Therefore i am experimenting with datasets from an Excel sheet. As i Understand its better to Import a DB from Excel for dynamizing a Model. Anyway in the Assembler Block we have the Option to define the Quantity of needed Input to generate our Output. For my example i have 3 different Inputs (Material) and my Output is a Car as shown in the picture below.

Model

  • My First question is: Do we need for every Input (Quantity1, Quantity2,…) a separate DB from Excel? Or is there an Option to bundle all Parameters in one Dataset based from one excel List?

  • my Second Question is: For example I have x-numbers of different production Orders with time of production, duration (time to produce one car) and needed material like in the picture below:
    production plan

Is there any special Format for the dataset required? I tried a simpler Model with just variable datasets for the Input1 (Quantity1) but wasn’t able to dynamize the Input. Furthermore i had only the Option in the “choice conditions” Field to pick for example quantity 1 or 2 or 3. So Input1 was fixed for 3 units of Material 1.

Unfortunately I couldn’t find any detailed information on the anylogic website or other mediums so i assume its not a typical question or required function. Maybe this is more complicated that i assume. I would be thankful if someone of you can help me with this Problem 🙂
