Best Horror Movies of All Time

Heading 1

The Exorcist: The Exorcist remains in a league all by itself, without doubt the most profoundly disturbing film ever made.

The Shining: People will rip on it and say it was nothing like the book, but every time I watch the shining it just brings me back, it's like a journey.

Halloween: This movie inspired me to be a horror movie film director and without this movie, I probably wouldn't have gotten into the horror genre as a whole.

Alien: I just got to say alien was boring. A nightmare On Elm street was good and scary. And another thing The Exorcist is the best made horror film. Alien is not a horror film.

A Nightmare on Elm Street: The sequels were all cheese and fairly stupid. This original one though was the most chilling. There weren't silly Freddy one-liners.

Psycho: Such a greatly interesting and tense movie. It defined the WHOLE genre of horror as the next best horror movies they had were laughable monster movies like Dracula and Frankenstein.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974): This should be the scariest movie of all time. The girl running from a big guy with a chainsaw and skin on his face.

The Silence of the Lambs: The Silence of the Lambs is easily hands down the best horror movie I've ever watched. The movie itself doesn't throw countless buckets of gore at you

The Thing: This movie needs to be higher. It is a classic horror film with great characters, settings, suspense, and gore, and you won't be able to forget it.

Scream: This movie totally gave the slasher genre (and really all horror) new life and started a new trend of smart suspense-driven horror movies. The entire franchise is classic.
